My internship experience at Ingalls Shipbuilding as an IT Operations Intern has been an incredible opportunity for growth and learning. I’m truly grateful to have been selected and to work alongside such knowledgeable professionals in a supportive environment. If there were a couple of areas for improvement, one would be having more structured shadowing opportunities with different departments within IT. This would allow interns to gain a broader understanding of how various teams collaborate across operations. Additionally, it would have been helpful if housing had been provided or supported in some way, as that can be a significant challenge for interns relocating for the summer. Overall, though, I’ve had a rewarding and meaningful experience that I truly appreciate.
