Position Summary:
The Elementary Classroom Teacher is responsible for creating a positive, engaging learning environment that promotes academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and student success. Teachers will plan and deliver standards-based instruction, assess student learning, and collaborate with colleagues, families, and school leadership to support student development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement engaging lessons aligned with Mississippi College- and Career-Readiness Standards.
- Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress using a variety of assessment methods.
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school personnel.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Participate in professional development and school-related activities.
- Collaborate with grade-level teams and support staff to improve student outcomes.
- Maintain professional standards and adhere to district policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Valid Mississippi Educator License with appropriate elementary education endorsement.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to fostering student achievement and growth.
