Summary of Responsibilities
Supervises and coordinate the Adult Community Support Services program, ensuring high-quality service delivery and compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
Essential Duties
- Supervise, train, and evaluate Adult Community Support Specialists Program to ensure quality service delivery and compliance with DMH standards.
- Provide clinical oversight and guidance to CSS staff regarding appropriate behavioral interventions to teach communication, social, vocational, and daily living skills.
- Coordinate with family members and serve as a liaison between community resources, vocational settings, and outpatient treatment teams to provide comprehensive treatment.
- Develops and lead outreach activities to promote adult mental, emotional, and social well-being programs throughout Jackson County.
- Develop and supervise adult peer support programs throughout the service area.
- Review and approve documentation in case note format to justify treatment needs.
- Oversee completion and submission of service logs per agency policy.
- Ensure case record documentation is adequate, appropriate, complete, and timely across the CSS program.
- Facilitate and lead clinical staffing sessions.
- Establish protocols for staff to respond to clients’ needs in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Create and maintain a positive work environment through appropriate leadership and team-building strategies.
- Manage a reasonable personal caseload of clients.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- DMH certification within 30 days of hire and maintained throughout duration of employment.
- DMH supervisory certification within six months of hire.
- Proficient in utilizing electronic health records and other data management systems.
- Satisfactory completion of CPR prior to providing services.
- Satisfactory completion of MANDT within 30 days of employment.
- Valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance.
- Ability to transport clients in private vehicle when necessary.
- Completion of annual training in compliance with DMH standards.
Experience & Education
Required
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related behavioral health field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with adults in a treatment setting.
- Eligible for Community Support Specialist certification through the Mississippi Department of Mental Health.
Preferred
- Current Mississippi professional license (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent) preferred
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of DSM and evidence-based treatment modalities.
